Attorney Janis K. Malec practices in personal injury, including automobile accidents, slip and falls, medical malpractice, and product liability. Attorney Malec has over twenty years’ experience as a trial attorney and has tried over two dozen cases to verdict.

In addition to her legal experience, Attorney Malec is a registered nurse. Her experience as a registered nurse is an asset in assessing a client’s medical picture and assists in helping the client obtain proper treatment.

Attorney Malec is a zealous advocate and a fierce negotiator on behalf of her clients. If a reasonable settlement cannot be reached, Attorney Malec is not afraid of a fight in court. In addition to her trial experience, Attorney Malec has resolved countless cases through arbitration or mediation.

Attorney Malec earned her law degree from Western New England College School of Law. Prior to law school, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Arts in Child Welfare from Saint Joseph College.

Attorney Malec serves as a neutral in the Hartford Superior Court in arbitrations, pre-trials, and fact finder trials. She is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and serves on the House of Delegates. Attorney Malec is a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. Additionally, Attorney Malec serves on the Board of Directors of the Business Women’s Forum.

Attorney Malec served on the Wethersfield Board of Education from 2005-2009 and served as Vice Chairperson from 2011-2013.

Outside of the office, Attorney Malec enjoys dining out, movies, weight training and traveling.
